Publish (sync) Product Data
Publish (sync) Product Data
For your safety, when working on your Product data, there are two databases: Staging Database and Receiver Database. You are always working in the staging database, which is never public and not yet available to Customers/Receivers.
The published data is the data that gets sent out through your channels or can be accessed by the Receivers.
When you are finished with your data work, you can easily publish (sync) your data. There are two ways to do this:
From the catalog
- Click on a Brand and select All Products.
- Select the or the Products you want to Publish.
- Click here to select all the products if you're going to publish them all at once.
- Click Actions and select Publish.
A message will show stating: "Products of this brand are being synced to receiver database...". Once this message disappears, the product has been published, and you'll be back in the Catalog.
Every time that you publish a product, this product syncs with the Receiver database.
- Click on a Brand and select Publish Data.
- Select a product or the products you are going to publish.
- Click in Publish items.
While publishing, a message will show stating: "Products of this brand are being synced to receiver database...". Once this message disappears, the product has been published, and you'll be back in the Publish Data menu.
4. Click to publish All Items of the Brand at once.
5. You can set the items to be published at night by clicking here. They will automatically get published at night.
6. By clicking here, it will lead you to the Catalog and show you the products.
If you select Publish all items of brand, a pop-up will show, informing that the tool will be blocked for that brand while publishing. Click Ok.
Once your data is published and
Synced to the
Receiver database
it can be sent through channels and accessed by customers/receivers. Product Publication Status
In the Catalog view, a product's publication status is indicated by color-coded "cloud" icons:
- Orange Cloud : indicates the product or updates are not yet published to the receiver database.
- Green Cloud : indicates the latest version of the product data is published in the receiver database.
- Grey Cloud : indicates the product has been temporarily excluded from publication to the receiver database (this is usually done to recently created parts, or parts that are out of date).
