Translation Tables

PDM Translation Tables make it easy for you to translate your ACES & PIES data into the Hispanic and international markets. In order to expand its investment into new markets, Auto Care has continuously added more Central and South American vehicles to the VCdb. This expansion opens the doors for North, Central, and South America to stay true to the Auto Care standard without a language translation barrier. These new Spanish translations are now available in the VCdb, Qdb, PCdb, and PAdb databases.

The Translation feature allows you to manage Translation Tables for certain data points in the Application and Exports.

 Overview

To access the Translations segment:
  1. Click on Settings and select Translations.
  2. Click in the Translations tab and select one or more options.
  3. You can search for a segment or select one from the dropdown. You have filter options in every language.
  4. Write a translation text, and click Save.
  5. In the Count column, you have filter options, and you can visualize how many products are using these translations; also, translations can be deleted as needed.
  6. Click in the Actions tab, here you can Export translations and have a second option to Delete. Click Export to see translations in an Excel file.

Languages

  1. Click in the Languages tab.
  2. Select a Default Language.
  3. Click to Add new Language. Select a Language from the list and click Save.


      4. The new language is now shown.
      5. Click here to Delete.

PDM fully supports Auto Care's Translation Tables available. The most complete way for the customer to have multiple languages within the system is by subscribing to Auto Care's translation Tables and using it along with PDM's translation feature.

Translations from the All Products Catalog 

We’ve also made it easy to create custom translations from English into Spanish, French, and Portuguese in these areas:

Part Attributes

  1. Click on a Brand and select All Products.
  2. Select a Product and click on Attributes.
  3. The language shown is the default language. Click on the 'pencil' icon to edit.
  4. You can see all translations here. Click Edit Translations and click Yes; it will take you to the Translations Tab.


      5. Search for the Part Attribute Value to add a translation.
      6. Type the translation that you want to add and click Save.



Return to the Catalog and search for the same Part Attribute Value to see the changes.


Qualifier & Notes

  1. In the All Products Catalog, select a product and click Application.
  2. Click on Edit Application.

   
      3. Click in Qualifier & Notes.
      4. Click in the blank to add a Value and Edit translations as needed.



      5. Click Add new to add a note.
      6. Add a value and click Ok, then click Save.



      7. Now, you can go to the Translation segment into the Settings.
      8. Search the note by typing the name and selecting Note from the Drop-Down.
      9. Add translations as needed and click Save.



Now you can go back to the Application Segment and see the added translations in the application.


Exports - Translations

  1. Click on a Brand and select Import/Export.
  2. Select All Parts option and a Database.


      3. Select Excel (Full), ACES or PIES.



      4. Toggle the Advanced Export Options button.



      5. Only export Records of the selected Language.
      6. The language selected here will be used as the fallback if the selected language does not exist. When your selection is done, click Export.
